Meet our Founder
Lila began with Rubah, a mother and architect who saw an opportunity to rethink children’s spaces. As a parent, Rubah wanted to create surroundings that were calm, purposeful, and supportive of her son’s development. And as an architect—trained at Columbia University—she had the tools to bring this vision to life.
Rubah’s experience spans years of work on large-scale projects, including managing WeWork’s architecture team in India and leading design initiatives at RMZ Corp. Lila started small, with prototypes tested right at home in her son Aslan’s play area, and grew from there into a brand dedicated to creating thoughtful furniture for children everywhere.
The Designers
At the heart of our creative process are Lalana and Pankaj, who lead design efforts from our studio. With rich experience in furniture design, they work closely with international designers to shape child-centred pieces. From selecting materials and refining proportions to prototyping and testing, they are involved in every step—driven by a shared goal: creating furniture that is playful in spirit and practical in function.
